Enjoy the holiday season without worrying about the extra pounds! This is an easy 10-day diet that prepares the body to receive the “little cheats” of the festivities and the end of the year celebrations. Experts share their tricks.

Remember that the idea is not to lose weight, the key is to remain.

And let’s accept it, trying to restrict ourselves after December 16th is a waste of time, there’s no will to endure in front of donuts, custards, flakes, Christmas desserts. According to experts: “At this time the weight gain is recurring and ranges between three and four kilos, so in January many seek to make “crazy diets”  to lose weight quickly, which generates collateral events of health risk”.

10 days of ‘diet’ without fried foods, sauces or ‘small packages of snacks’

The dietitian nutritionist Adriana Steevens shares a diet model in which you can reduce 300 calories a day on average and without sacrifice. “This approach will become a useful tool for the constant fluctuations of weight and will facilitate the body to receive non-aggressive changes to its metabolism, but rather prepare it for these Christmas events”, says the expert.

Another trick… Take control while eating!

Dr. Fredy Sánchez, a psychiatrist who works with people looking to change their lifestyle to lose weight, gives us five recommendations to deceive the mind and promote the body.

1. Eat in the same place: Always sit in the same place at home or work, in this way your brain will be conditioned and it will be easier to avoid eating when you are out of this place you have chosen.

2.Strict schedule: Try to eat every two and a half or three hours: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner. This way you will program your brain so that only at this time you will feel the ‘need to eat’. This will also ensure that you have more control in doing so since you will never be hungry if you eat with a certain frequency

3.Eat something before going to parties: Preferably a protein or vegetables. At parties they serve snacks while guests arrive and dinner starts late. If you did not eat before leaving you will feel very hungry and attack everything they offer you … you will even sit down for dinner.

4.Get enough sleep: The festivities make you sleepless, but if you don’t get enough sleep, you will increase cortisol production and also you will convert the food into fat that will build up in your abdomen. Sleep between six and eight hours a day, get home to rest.
